$1million gift establishes endowment

Howard A. Stotler
The Lake Forest Symphony Board of Directors is delighted to announce the receipt of a major gift from Howard A. Stotler, a long-time donor and supporter of the organization. Stotler’s gift of $1,000,000 establishes the Lake Forest Symphony Endowment Fund. The gift was announced to a sell-out crowd at the Lake Forest Symphony’s Golden Anniversary Gala on Saturday, November 3rd.
The assets will be held in trust and managed by the Chicago Community Trust, with earnings distributed to the Symphony semi-annually to help offset the cost of Symphony operations. The goal is to ensure the organization’s financial viability into the future.
Stotler received the Symphony’s Golden Commitment Award for his longstanding dedication to the Lake Forest Symphony at the November 3rd Gala.
Two other local residents, Anne R. Brown and Granger Cook, Jr. were also honored with Golden Commitment Awards for their longstanding dedication to and important support of the Lake Forest Symphony.
