Several of Chopin’s favorite piano works are skillfully combined in the ballet score, Les Sylphides; and his warmly melodic piano concertos remain audience favorites. The juxtaposition with Beethoven’s sunny eighth symphony will provide insights into how Chopin was influenced by his path-breaking predecessor. Pianist Soojin Ahn was declared the audience favorite at the Chopin International Competition in Warsaw.
